Your Guide to Cleaning Your Floors & Countertops

Using the correct cleaning products can be daunting. Check out these cleaning product tips for different surfaces in your home.

Floors:

Whether you’ve chosen wood, laminate, or vinyl plank flooring for your home, we recommend the BONA® Professional Series floor care system. Wax based cleaners, refreshers, and/or polishers are NOT recommended for any engineered woods, laminates, or vinyl products. Overtime, wax based products will create major dullness and extra residue to your floors.

When it comes to stone and tile Stonetech® everyday cleaners are a great choice. Just make sure to NOT use general purpose household cleaners. Using these will break down any sealers and can actually harm many stone surfaces.

Granite & Marble Countertops:

Dupont Stonetech Professional Impregnator or GranQuartz Professional Impregnator can be used on most granite surfaces. We use Dupont Stonetech Bulletproof Sealer or GraQuartz Premium Impregnator on very porous stones, such as marble or granite. It is recommended that you reseal your countertops once a year for preventative maintenance and you can use the GranQuartz 3-in-1 Spray for daily cleaning. DO NOT USE normal abrasive cleaners (ie. Windex, Soft Scrub, Pinesol, 409, Ammonica, etc.) on your natural stone counters because they can eventually dull the surface of your stone and strip the sealer.

Quartz Countertops:

For routine maintenance, simply wipe the surface using a clean, soft cloth or sponge with a mild dish soap diluted in warm water. Polished Radianz® is naturally resistant to surface staining from cooking oils, wine, coffee, etc. In most cases, a mild dish-soap and water is enough to keep your quartz countertops clean. Make sure to rinse thoroughly with clean water to prevent spotting. If you do have a stubborn stain or mark, apply a non-abrasive household cleaner and rinse to remove residue.For dried or hardened marks, you can remove by gently scraping the surface with a plastic putty knife. NEVER use Methylene Chloride or cleaners containing any alkaline materials.
